Santa came one week early!
Closure of the MRGO to begin soon.
Santa Claus came one week early and in a very big way to the Pontchartrain Basin. On December 17, The Corps of Engineers issued the notice to commence work to close the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (the MRGO or Mr. Go). The remaining days for the infamous MRGO are numbered. Soon, barges loaded with large rocks, cranes, and construction crews will converge on the MRGO to close it down. (More info here.)
